5 Important Developments in Healthcare

Carol Evenson
Medical developments are moving faster than ever in today's modern world, and medical professionals are working harder than ever to ensure that people all over the world can have adequate medical treatment no matter what background they come from.
There are some important developments in healthcare that have recently taken the medical world by storm, and there are more developments that are expected to arrive in the near future. Here are five of them.

Reed Tech Navigator

While not a medical device itself, the Reed Tech Navigator is helping to improve the safety of medical devices technology to create a database that clients can use to ensure the quality and safety of the medical devices they use.
Clients can use the service to compare the usefulness of different products between brands or across industry averages to determine what the best product for their needs is. The Reed Tech Navigator is a step towards giving good quality healthcare to people all over the world and keeping them informed on exactly what quality of care they are receiving.

Cures and Treatments

Medical professionals are constantly working to find cures and treatments for common diseases that affect millions of people around the work, and recently, progress has been made towards many cures and treatments. A drug has been made that stops the spread of HIV.
The person will still suffer from HIV, but he or she is far less likely to transmit it. There are always new cancer treatments being tried and tested, and surgical removal is becoming more viable than ever. Scientists are also discovering more about Alzheimer's disease, and ways to stop it from developing in the first place.

Augmented Reality

One of the most popular uses of augmented reality was in the 2016 mobile app, Pokémon Go, but video games are not the only way to make use of augmented reality. Medical students have already begun to make use of augmented reality in their training to simulate certain medical challenges, such as surgery.
Augmented reality programs allow students to practice their anatomy and surgical skills in a completely safe environment with no risk of endangering human life. Augmented reality enhancements will only get more realistic and high-tech from here. It will be a wonder to see where it goes

Head Transplants

While no human head transplant has ever been successfully completed or even attempted, there have been serious plans to undertake this seemingly impossible challenge since around 2017. As recently as 2019, the man who had been scheduled to receive a head transplant decided to back out due to the dangers the surgery might pose.
However, researchers are constantly making progress towards the possibility of head transplants in the future. Xiaoping Ren and Sergio Canavero are two doctors who were able to successfully disassemble and reassemble the spines of both a dog and monkey, so the possibility could be more likely than you might think.

Anti-Aging

Aging is simply a harsh reality of the human condition. With the medical advancements that some researchers have been making recently, it is looking like humans will not always be bound by the limits of aging. The science is in very early stages, but some scientists think that using blood from people under the age of 25 could hold the secret to anti-aging.
The power of science is amazing. In a few short years, humans have been able to develop more types of technology and medications than ever before, and the scientific community is constantly being flooded with new research and studies that will help the human race thrive well into the future.
