The medical term for this kind of a sensation is known as 'Vertigo', and in layman's term, it is referred to as lightheadedness or maybe unsteadiness. In this article, you will learn about the different dizziness symptoms and causes.

Causes

People, irrespective of their age, can experience dizziness and they might experience it in different manner. Some might feel faint and feel that the whole world is rotating really fast, while some might suddenly feel that everything is turning dark and suddenly they black out.
Here are some of the common causes:
  • Injury to ear
  • Certain medications and medical treatments
  • Dehydration
  • Low Pressure
  • Increasing Age
  • Pregnancy
  • Excess exposure to heat or humidity
  • High fever and weakness
  • Heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Problem in the eye muscles
  • Head injury
  • Staying in an empty stomach for long hours.

Symptoms

When a person is suffering from dizziness or nausea, they experience certain signs, which may sometimes vary from one person to another. Given below are some of the common signs
  • Loss of balance, where the person cannot move their head or even stand up properly. It will feel like your legs have suddenly turned into a jelly. Walking or moving his arms and legs will also be difficult.
  • Fatigue and tiredness, which occurs during extreme cases. The person will feel tired, lethargic, and weak.
  • Pain in chest is another symptom. Since anxiety and stress are an important cause, irregular heartbeat is another symptom of this problem.
  • Blurred vision occurs due to severe head spinning. If you feel that the whole room is moving really fast around you when your head spin, your vision also appears blurred as you are not being able to capture each and every image like you normally do.
  • Dryness in mouth which might lead to difficulty in speaking.
  • Severe or minor headaches.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Walking becomes difficult.
  • Body becomes dehydrated and the person feels thirsty.
  • Sweating and palpitation.
  • Uncoordinated body movements, as due to the spinning of the head, people find it difficult to place where they are and what they see.
  • Tingling sensation in the legs and arms. The person also undergoes a vomiting tendency.
  • Pressure in the ear is formed, which causes a ringing sound in the hear, which can also hamper hearing potentials.
  • Facial droop or numbness is another sign, and sometimes, if this happens in extremity, then there is a risk for paralysis.
  • Abdomen pain or discomfort can also indicate dizziness and this pain can be accompanied with vomiting and cramps.
  • The person also becomes sensitive to the various environmental change around him, such as change in air pressure and so on.
  • Eyes also start paining and the person also finds it difficult to sleep properly at night.
Treatments are also present in order to help the person when such problem occurs. In extreme cases, the person needs to be given immediate medical attention.
