Feel Better About Yourself With a Better Health Routine

Mikkie Mills
If you are mentally sluggish as well as physically sluggish, it could be your daily routine. Healthy eating, physical exercise and a positive outlook all work together to give you a sense of well being.

Nutrition and Eating Right

According to Harvard Health, your brain requires constant nutrition, since it is always working. In other words, the food and drink that you eat has a direct effect on the structure and function of your brain and, ultimately, your mood.
A study found that those who took probiotics, that are supplements containing beneficial bacteria, had anxiety levels, perception of stress, and mental outlook showed improvement. Those who did not take probiotics did not show any improvement.
The Mediterranean and Japanese diet have shown a lower risk of depression. This is because these diets are high in fruits, vegetables, unprocessed grains and seafood, with less amounts of lean meats and dairy. Refined foods and sugars are avoided; these two types of food are staples of the "Western" diet.
According to NIH, the Mediterranean Diet can help reduce depression, anxiety, stroke and other problems of the brain.
A "cleaner" diet can help your mental outlook and lead to better feelings about the world and yourself. Cut out processed foods and sugar first. Add fermented foods, or go dairy-free or grain-free. See how you feel; you can slowly add some of these foods back into your diet. See how much better you can feel with a clean diet.

Get Moving

Whether it's a walk by a pond or an hour in the gym, exercise has been shown to improve mental health and relieve stress. Exercise releases endorphins and serotonin into the brain to improve stress, relieve anxiety and lessen depression. To add to this, your body shape and strength may improve, to enhance your self image.
Self esteem improves as you see a more fit body; those who need to loose weight can see results in their look as well as health. Thirty minutes every day can be done through short spurts of exercise, whether at the gym, walking or running.
Dog owners will already have some benefits, in addition to having a furry friend, of having to take Rover for daily walks. Daily exercise pumps blood to the brain, as it improves connections between cells.
The trick is to do something that you love for exercise; it might be kayaking, bicycling, rowing, skating or other sport. All these will give you the benefits of improved mental health.
According to an article in The Lancet, "Individuals who exercised had 1·49 (43·2%) fewer days of poor mental health in the past month than individuals who did not exercise..."
It is widely agreed that exercise in the form of sports, the gym or another type, can be a positive force in your mental health, making you feel better about the world in general, as well as yourself.

Some Other Steps

Protein shakes and muscle builders also aid in better nutrition. According to Le-vel Thrive reviews, this lifestyle system has helped some people and should be considered to help improve your lifestyle!
Mindfulness, meditation and yoga are other steps that have been incorporated into a daily routine. According to Psychology Today, focusing on the moment, breath by breath, can lead to less anxiety and depression. It can also improve thinking and behavioral functions.
