  • Avoid having food rich in fat.
  • While eating, chew the food carefully. Digestion begins in the mouth. If the food is not chewed properly, all the structures of the digestive system have to work more to break it down.
  • Water is necessary for the sound functioning of your body's digestive and excretory system. Therefore, make it a point that you drink 8 - 10 glasses of water everyday.
  • Avoid leading a sedentary lifestyle. Follow a moderate exercise regimen.
Following are some of the home remedies for a gassy stomach and its associated discomforts.
  • Take a handful of lemon verbena leaves and boil them in a glass of distilled water for 15 minutes. Filter the water out and drink it.
  • Add half a teaspoon of ground ginger and a teaspoon of honey to a cup of boiling water. Mix all the ingredients well. Drink it once a day.
  • Coriander seed is also a great remedy for this condition. Eat a teaspoon everyday on an empty stomach. It relieves stomach pain caused due to gas.
  • Soak 2 - 3 tablespoons of peach leaves in a glass of water for half an hour. Filter the water out and drink it mixed with a little honey.
  • Have a cup of parsley tea twice or thrice a day.
  • Mix one teaspoon of fresh grated ginger and a teaspoon of lime juice. Have it immediately after having a meal.
  • Massage your stomach well with fennel oil before going to bed.
  • Make a mixture of a cup of water, a teaspoon of baking soda, and 2 - 3 tablespoons of milk. Have it once a day.
  • Rock back and forth either in a rocking chair or in any sitting position.
