► The formation of muscle knots stops the circulation of blood in that particular area. Since blood tends to get accumulated in the regions, the area may appear bluish black.

► Other symptoms include a feeling of dizziness or vertigo, tension headaches, inability to move that specific part and a burning sensation.

Providing Relief from Muscle Knots

Though quite annoying in nature, there are a few things that can be followed to get rid of muscle knots and also prevent their recurrence. This condition should not be overlooked and taken as something usual. Timely medical intervention will prevent this condition from becoming chronic, which may take a longer time to get cured.
► Applying warm or cold compress on the affected part is one of the best ways to relieve the pain caused due to muscle knots. The heat will help the knots to loosen up, thereby releasing them.

► Massaging the area is also another productive way for bringing down the pain caused by the knots. It also improves blood circulation in the muscles.
► The doctor may prescribe pain killers and other medications to reduce and dissolve the lumps in the muscles. Physical therapy may also be recommended by the medical practitioner to prevent the muscle knots from occurring again.
