Stress, obesity, diet, lack of exercise, hypertension, smoking, etc., are some of the reasons that increase the risk of heart attack in people, which can even lead to death. Initially only older people were prone to heart attacks, however, nowadays even younger adults are found to suffer from heart attack. Knowing and identifying heart attack symptoms helps in quick treatment.

Symptoms

Although a mild heart attack is, as the name suggests, mild, it should not be ignored. Signs and symptoms of a mild heart attack also cause a lot of pain and discomfort, and hence, cannot be ignored.
  • Chest pain is the most common and obvious symptoms of heart attack.
The pain is dull and persistent which also travels to the shoulders and arm. One may complain of a feeling as if weight is placed on the chest. This type of chest pain is often confused as heartburn caused due to indigestion.
  • Common symptoms include left arm pain and also in jaw, neck, shoulder, middle back, stomach, etc.
  • Shortness of breath or breathlessness is another common symptom observed in men. One may experience a feeling as if one has just climbed a long flight of stairs.
  • Excessive sweating is something to look out for. Breaking into uncontrolled sweats for no reason is often related to mild heart attack in men.
  • One of the lesser known symptoms of heart attack is indigestion or heartburn. Chest pain caused due to heart attack is mistaken for heartburn and vice versa.
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Fainting
  • Vomiting
  • Anxiety
  • Feeling of impending doom
It should be noted that no symptoms are observed in case of silent heart attacks. Silent heart attacks are caused usually due to diabetes and can be experienced by men as well as women. The person does not realize that he has just suffered from a heart attack due to lack of symptoms observed in case of silent heart attacks.

Treatment

A heart attack occurs when the blood flow to the heart is disrupted, therefore, the treatment aims at regaining normal blood flow to the heart. If any of the above mentioned heart attack symptoms are observed, one should call the emergency health service or visit the hospital.
It is wise to call for emergency treatment even when early heart attack symptoms are observed. It should be noted that if treatment is made available within 1 hour of the onset of symptoms, the damage to the heart can be reduced.
Mild heart attack treatment involves use of medication to widen the blood vessels for proper blood flow. If symptoms are observed due to hypertension, the doctor will also administer medication to reduce hypertension.
As a summation of the above, we conclude that mild heart attack symptoms are similar to a severe heart attack. Therefore, without wondering about the nature of the heart attack, it is wise to rush for quick treatment for the prevention of other severe or fatal complications. Take care!
