A healthy skin acts as a barrier for the outside environment. A rash is the result of a skin reaction to some external or internal stimuli. It can be due to some mild diseases, some serious conditions, or skin disorders of any part of the body like hands, back, face, waist, neck, etc.
Rash is generally found to be the result of insect bite, infection, inflammation, irritation, any abnormal situation, or allergy. In this article, we will be discussing the causes, symptoms, and treatment of this condition on the neck.
Rash can happen anytime and anywhere. It looks like red patches on the skin, changing its look and color. The causes can be determined partly by the location of the rash on the body.
A skin rash that is widespread, may be because of some insect bite, viral infection, or reaction of a drug. However, if it has been restricted to an area, it can be an outcome of a simple irritation or itching. It is generally not transmissible, and vanishes after some time, but in some cases, treatment and consultation from the physician might be required.

Possible Causes

  • Acne: Pimple or black heads on the skin cause itchy rash.
  • Eczema: It is a serious skin disease, a type of dermatitis, accompanied by irritation, inflammation, itching, swelling, and redness of the skin.
  • Scabies: This infection is caused by microscopic mites, and is called sarcoptes scabiei.
  • Sunburn: It is the damage caused to the skin by the ultraviolet rays.
  • Folliculitis: It is the damage caused by the bacteria from the follicles that have undergone some injury.
  • Tinea: It is a type of fungal infection that results in jock itch, ringworm, or athlete's foot.
  • Mycosis Fungoides: It is a serious skin infection, leading to lymph cancer and tumor.
  • Psoriasis: Dead skin cells and thick skin cause this chronic disorder of the skin.

Treatment

  • Clean the affected area with antibacterial cleanser. It will clean the area that might have been affected by the bacteria that clog the skin pores.
  • Hydrocortisone cream can also be used for getting rid of the itching on the neck or chest, and will calm the irritation of the skin.
  • For the itches, a solution made from hazel bark boiled in water, and then applied with a cotton swab on the affected area might also give relief.
  • A natural gel made out of Aloe vera, if applied directly on the rash, might also soothe the irritated region.
  • It is a natural remedy, acting as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and might benefit other disorders too.
  • Calendula oil also can be used is an anti-inflammatory product useful for treating rashes on neck.
Apart from these, some quick methods for treatment are also available, like applying baking soda on the affected area will give immediate relief; cloth soaked in calcium water can be placed on the rash to reduce the inflammation; prepare a mixture of basil leaves, garlic, cloves, olive oil, and pepper, to apply and get immediate relief. Pansies can also be used to get relief from itching and inflammation if it is caused due to eczema.
These were some of the natural remedies to cure these rashes. If the rashes become severe, intolerable, or spread further, you must immediately rush to the doctor for medication. There might be some other medical reason for this, so it becomes essential to consult a dermatologist if the problem persists for a long time.
