In the human body, there is a ring of glandular tissue located at the back of the throat. It is called Waldeyer's ring. It consists of tonsils and adenoids. Both these structures are composed of lymphoid tissue. They are believed to produce antibodies in infants. Thus, adenoids are a part of the immune system of your body.
Any disorder occurring here leaves an effect on the overall well-being of your body. One of the common abnormalities these glands suffer from is their swelling. The condition is very uncomfortable and irritating.

Symptoms

The major symptoms are pain, difficulty in swallowing, enlargement, inflammation, chills, and fever. In many cases, the signs and symptoms of swollen adenoids also include enlarged lymph nodes, respiratory problems, nasal congestion, and serious sore throat.

Causes

Honey and Lemon Juice

Take a glass of warm water. Add a teaspoon of honey and 2-3 drops of lemon juice to it. Mix all these ingredients well. Drink this solution. This will provide you with a soothing and comforting effect.

Milk and Turmeric

Take a glass of warm milk. Add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder to it. Mix it well. Drink it once a day. To get the best possible result, have it daily for five consecutive days before bedtime. Turmeric and milk have antiseptic properties and soothing properties respectively. Hence, their combination causes the swollen adenoids to heal fast and come back to their normal healthy state.

Beet, Carrot, and Cucumber

Take a beet, carrot, and cucumber. Peel each one of them. Cut them in small pieces and blend them together in a grinder to make a paste. Eat this paste of vegetables twice a day. You will get relief within a week.

Onion and Water

Take an onion and extract its juice. Mix it with a glass of warm water to make a solution. Use this onion and water solution to gargle. Do it 4-5 times a day for fast and effective recovery.

Lemon and Salt

Take a lemon and cut it in two halves. Take one half and sprinkle a pinch of common salt on it. If you wish, you may add black pepper as well. Allow seeping of the salt through the fruit for about five minutes. Put the lemon half on a hot container such that it gets warmed up. Now, lick this half of the lemon. Try to consume all the juice from it.

Quietness

While you suffer from swollen adenoids, you find difficulty in speaking. Since it is painful and uncomfortable to speak, you should follow your instinct and avoid talking as much as you can.

Water

Keeping your body hydrated will assist in a fast cure. Therefore, drink plenty of water. You may take water in the form of fruit juices, hot and cold beverages. Having 8-10 glasses of water will treat swollen adenoids as well prevent it from occurring in the future.

Miscellaneous

There can be certain things that can aggravate the symptoms. One of the substances that can cause a negative effect are spicy foods and acidic beverages. Try to stay away from them till you recover completely. Taking hot showers will help the healing process.
