Peptic ulcers are open sores that develop inside the lining of the stomach and upper part of your small intestine (called the duodenum). Your stomach is protected by a thick layer of mucus to protect it from digestive juices.
There are two types of peptic ulcer:-
Gastric ulcers occur in your stomach.
Duodenal ulcers occur in the upper part of your small intestine. Peptic ulcers are a common disease and can be a persistent problem.
Symptoms of peptic ulcers can vary, you may or may not have symptoms.
Common symptoms of ulcer are:- 1.) Burning pain in the stomach 2.) Feeling full, bloated or belching 3.) Intolerance for fatty food 4.) Heartburn 5.) Nausea
More severe symptoms of peptic ulcer include:-
1.) Vomiting 2.) Dark, reddish or blackish stool 3.) Breathing problem 4.)Appetite changes 5.) Unexpected weight loss.
Treatment:-
Antibiotics to kill H. pylori bacteria.
Acid blockers to reduce acid production.
Anti-acids.
Medication to protect your stomach lining and intestine.
